Is MySQL 5.1 supported with ubb 7.4.1 ?
Anyone had any experience of upgrading from MySQL 5.0 to 5.1 using WHM/cPanel on a Linux server ?
We are running CentOS 4.

Yes, no issues with running any MySQL 4+ version with UBB. I've never done an upgrade using WHM/cPanel, only directly through the shell, but it should be a fairly straight upgrade I'd imagine.

i have WHM/Cpanel -- stable release and mysql 5.1 is happy.. the easyapache upgrader is the way to go in WHM too wink

also apache 2.2.14

but there is a BIG nono... don't upgrade past php 5.2.12!

5.3 and 5.3.1 will break ubbthreads... this is because about 5 functions are deprecated and in php 6.0 will be gonzo all together..

Thanks Rick/Sirdude.
PHP 5.3.1 was going to be the subject of my next question - we are currently running PHP 5.2.12

Will PHP 5.3.1 be supported with ubbthreads v8 ?

Yes, PHP5.3 and up will be supported in version 8. We'll also be putting out a small maintenance release within the next week so our current version will run properly as well.

So your saying PHP4 (err previous versions of PHP) will no longer be supported in version 8?

No, they'll still be supported. We're just going to make sure we are not using any functions that are deprecated, but at this point we're still going to be supporting 4.3+.
