I have noticed that when new members register on my forum, it is taking progressively longer for them to show up as new members in the "Newest Members" block. My current member in question has been registered for almost a week and has even made 4 or 5 posts and comments and is still not shown there. The member prior to him was registered for 3 days and finally showed in the box after he made his first post. Before that everyone was almost instantly placed there when they registered. Any ideas.... thanks!

What I'd do is just clear out your cache folder manually, everything except for the index.html file, and then rebuild the cache in the control panel to eliminate any permission type issues.

And how does one "rebuild the cache in the control panel"? Are you referring to the "Tools & Info/Clear Cache" utility? I also looked in the "Tools & Info/Content Rebuilder" items and there isn't anything there that mentions "cache".

One other quick question... I have two "index" files: index.html and index.htm. Should both of those be retained when manually cleaning out the cache folder? or is the index.html file the only one to retain?

Okay, that answers Q. #2 re: index.html file.

Now, how about re: "rebuild the cache in the control panel"? What does one use to do that?

Are you referring to the "Tools & Info/Clear Cache" utility? "Clear" doesn't appear as a synonym for "Rebuild" in my Oxford Dictionary. Sorry, but I'm simply trying to be sure I'm going to do the right thing beforehand. [Linked Image from the-highway.com]
