ok, as part of my testing with cloudflare, Ihave a subdomain enabled that bypasses their service, allowing direct access to teh site, problem is, ubb automatically redirects to www. which defeats the purpose of th subdomain. I see in the settings where I can set the URL, is there some way to set it so that it remembers which sub was used to access the site?

does the sub.domain have it's own forum ? or is there some sorta sharing of the DB ?
i'm not clear on what you want to do..
if the sub.domain is it's own dealio, then that is a no brainer.. but i'll wait to see what you're really trying to do..

www.vannin.com and vannin.com get filtered through cloudflare, direct.vannin.com bypasses it to allow people a way to get to the site if they are having issues. however, anything in threads that you type direct.xxxxxxxxx UBB automatically redirects it to www.vannin.com, putting people back into the cloud

You just need to check "Allow Multi-URL access" under Primary Settings -> Advanced Options in the control panel.

Rick, it's my understanding that once a user "logs in" it'll change the URL to the "Full URL" listed in the cp, regardless of whether or not "Multi URL Access" is selected (at least I've seen this in the past).
I'm also curious if the behavior I've previously observed still exists and still exists for https sites (ie accessing the site https and logging in)

You just need to check "Allow Multi-URL access" under Primary Settings -> Advanced Options in the control panel. ah, ok, that seems to help! also had to modify some direct links I had added so they keep the correct prefix as well. seems to be working for me, now if I could get some of these people on my site to figure out what I mean when I say, "use direct.vannin.com instead of www.vannin.com" uggh... some people should not be allowed to touch a keyboard!

I have said for years you should have to take and pass a course and be certified in passing before they would allow you to access the internet.
I have had people call me on the phone and ask me to design them a web site for business and administer it and do everything for them and they would pay me roughly well, meaning what they think is roughly well, for them to do an online business. None of them have ever been on the internet or owned a computer.
For this reason alone I no longer place my phone number on my business cards but rather email contact or web site form contact ONLY. Weeds out the people that have never been on the internet.

on my registration page, I have it written in BIG RED LETTERS that using yahoo mail to register is not advised, as it seems that 50% of the time yahoo doesn't deliver it at all or flags it as spam, yet I keep getting emails from people complaining that my site is broken and they have tried to register and never get the verification mail, and they are all using yahoo emails...
