Can anyone tell me how/ where I can repair the 'Enter the email address or your Username to have a temporary password mailed to you.' link fixed so that a temporary password is actually sent to people? This is the page http://www.thechartist.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=login&lostpw=1We are using version 7.5.2 Many thanks Trish

The first item to test would be that your email account in ubb is working. You could test it by say using the email post button when viewing a post. And see if you receive it.
Second would be checking Control Panel » Primary Settings Board Email Address: All emails being sent out will come from this address.
This needs to be a valid email address
Third Select the advanced option below the above reference and double check the Use specified SMTP Server: Normally this is controlled by php.ini. However if you need to send mail through another SMTP server and cannot do this by editing php.ini, you can specify it here.
Forth Could be your board email address is blacklisted by the member ISP

Also. I did some sneaky stuff looking at your email account here I used it for a lost password at your site. It resulted in a successful request. But the bottom line is,did you get a reset notification? If you did get the notification you can just ignore it since it is a temporary password and will expire on it's own. And your original password will still work.

Your best bet is looking at the mail logs on your server, it'll let you know if messages are being sent out; from there you can do more troubleshooting (if messages are being sent out you'd probably want to make sure you're not blacklisted, if they're not being sent out then you'll want to check the mail server, etc)
