Recently, I have always had to log in when coming to this site. This is unusual and it is the only UBB site that doesn't remember you are logged in..
anyone else have to log in each time they come to this site?

To be honest, I've experienced the exact opposite. For a while (a few months ago) I was unable to log out. I logged out every time before closing my browser but the next time I visited, I was logged back in automatically.
(Remember me was not checked.)

Ditto for me too with both IE9 and FF. I tried deleting the cookies, etc., but to no avail.

I also have noticed it on multiple desktops using firefox and IE but other ubb sites do not have this issue. Sites that are using 7.5.6p2 or just 7.5.6 are fine. Could this be some issue with a datestamp somewhere on this server???

I'm using Nightly (only officially supported firefox build that is x64 for windows) so I just figured it was something being borked there...

Would be nice! At least to know what happened. By accident or intentional.

wonder if we will ever get a response..?? Well, this is, and likely always will be, a user to user support forum; if you're looking for a direct comment then the ticket system is more suited.

Bah it is not an issue just annoying as hell. Seems that it is just this site as far as UBB goes... I know that on my site, and many of the others that I visit... when I click remember me on each visit it does..and it isn't browser specific either. I know that I can log in on my iphone, gIII, blackberry, my laptop using Chrome, I.E. and Firefox and don't have an issue.. just seems this one does.
Maybe they changed the cookie extension without telling anyone?

I'm wondering if there is a script set to purge the sessions directory on a timed basis for security... I say that as it's completely sporadic when the issue happens.

The big question I have, after it is obviously known that the problem widely exists, is... Who is responsible for this board? Was there anyone besides Rick who maintained it with access and the authority to do what is presently needed? IF it is the new owner, that could indicate that it won't be fixed any time soon or ever. IF SD is the "go to" guy, then it won't be any time soon either since he is buried in getting the update ready. So, from my perspective, this login problem is going to be around for quite awhile or indefinitely and thus I have accepted that fact/possibility and it's how this board functions.

UBBSystems is solely responsible for the product; SD is merely being paid to develop the new version.

This doesn't seem to be that, since all I have to do is close my browser and even if I immediately reopen it and come here I'm logged off.

I don't even need to log out, i leave the site for a few hours and come back and I'm logged out; hence why I figured it's likely some script on the server purging temporary files...

Emails are now not coming from this site anymore; my PT notifications are still on, however I am not receiving any sort of email when a message comes.

All this does not speak well of this once great company. "Software Package" or "Script"; we've still yet to really deal with this company...

This problem reminds me of something I experienced some years ago.... In moving the site from one server to another, the hosting site had failed to set all the read/write access permissions correctly on some of the directories. Do you think this might be a similar problem?

Well I actually reset my password and that doesn't help either.
2 months later the issue remains.
Sad to see

Believe it or not, I am not experiencing the auto-logout problem any longer. I am still logged in after 3 days.

Aye same here. Since they went to the 7.5.7 version I have not had any issue staying logged in whatsoever.

Yeah, instead of being logged out on every re-visit I've been logged in for days now... It's quite nice lol; you'd think it wouldn't be such a big deal until it became a pain in the rear...

I've been fine here since the upgrade. On my own site, however, since the update was done (Thank you, Gizmo!), many users are now having the problem there, including me.
