I need to choose forum software. What are the differences or why would I choose ubb over mybb or phpbb? Also, are there plugins for ubb and if so where? One more thing...Will there ever be a facebook login or any king of facebook integration?

UBBDev is the development community for the UBB.

MyBB and PHPBB are freeware forums, maliciously hacked constantly, just go google "security hole phpbb" for example.

okay, that is very important. So I guess no plugins or facebook integration? Not that facebook is all that important to me at this time.

There are no plugins but there are quite a few modifications; the difference being that mod's you have to install manually and plugins are more automated.

Integrating Facebook into Threads is as simple as just reading a tutorial provided by Facebook. I'm sure someone has a mod but whether it is outdated or not is the question.

I have purposely NOT linked Facebook to my forum. I find that the ongoing changes (updates? ha!) in Facebook (FB) are so disruptive that I don't want to subject my users to it. They can go to FB anytime on their own if they want.

But I'm not going to be married to their persistent marketing disturbance.

So - I'm not knocking anyone else who WANTS to link (and share authentication with them), I'm just saying that it's not for me. I am trying to keep life simple - and secure - for my users.
