I have recently instituted the Shout Box, which my users absolutely love.

The problem is each shout has an obvious (x) next to it which obviously deletes the comment. Users will delete a comment which then makes the next users' comment out of context. Plus I don't know if anyone can delete others. I have tested and can, but I have admin status.

Any ideas? I do see where someone may want to delete a shout just like a post, but I think once someone comments, they shouldn't be allowed.

Only the user who posts the comment and an admin can delete shoutbox posts... Since the shoutbox only shows 20 posts (I think it's 20) I don't think it's really worthwhile to take and mod out the ability for users to delete their posts... Though it is possible I guess, it'd take some R&D + code modifications.
