If "Enter an image" feature/button is disabled how would a poster still be able to Enter an image in the post by using the below string:

<a href="http://s745.photobucket.com/user/pentaxpix/media/photo5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/xx91/pentaxpix/photo5.jpg" border="0" alt="51 Suburban, new floor panels going in photo photo5.jpg"/></a>

When I Click on quote the the above string appears.
With these book ends. [quote=52panel][/quote]

Or was a different string used.

Code
[img]http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/xx91/pentaxpix/photo5.jpg[/img]

Photobucket shows an "IMG" code on the right side of the page ("Links to share this photo"), just copy and paste that.

Tried that and it just highlights link like below, with line under link. With [img][/img] book ends.
http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/xx91/pentaxpix/photo5.jpg
Does not show image in ether preview post and post.

Any other Ideas how this was done.

Tried Photobucket "IMG" code, same results, no image in ether preview post and post.
Stumped on how poster was able to post a image without a "Enter an image" button.

Well, it was kinda never broke.
The site has purposely taken the "image button" out of the "Full Reply Screen" menu bar, to help reduce the bandwidth needed which also makes the servers busier than necessary.
Site Image Posting Policy

I was wondering if you opened a thread with a html image link in it.
Isn't the image your really seeing in that thread, coming from the Photobucket server rather than coming from the site's forum server.
If this is true, than the image would not be eating up the site's server bandwidth.
Correct?

Yes, I contacted the user/poster and that is how he is able to insert image.
By enabling html code from the drop down options on the bottom of the "Full Reply Screen".
And pasting the Photobucket html link in the text box.
Image does not appear in preview post but does in the post after you Submit it.

At any rate I figured out how it was done.
I just skipped doing the "enabling html code" step.

Thats what I thought.

You really should not allow html posting for anyone but trusted individuals.
Bad html code can break the pages.
Which can break the forum.

Glad to see you figured it out.

As far as site bandwidth.
Yes, using a image/video hosting site does help reduce your site's bandwidth.

Is there a way in the UBB.threads PHP Forum Software 7.5.8 to disable html posting?

Control Panel > Forum Permissions > "Can post using HTML" (its on the mid-right side)
Also see the related, "Can post using Markup/UBBCode" (mid-left side)

EDIT: Don't forget to select the "Currently editing permissions for" drop-down at the top smile

another method is:
Control Panel » Group Management
select each group one at a time and then edit forum permissions
Set the html field for 0 for undesired groups.
go back and repeat for the next group.

They both do the same thing.
But one method may be quicker than the other.
Depends on how many groups and forums you have.

Or if all of your forums have the same permissions.
Change one and use the mass copy to change all of them at once.
