Hi guys

I hope you are all well.

I'm running 7.5.5 and need to upgrade but I assume I need to pay for access to the required updates files. It's been that long that I can't remember the procedure.

Did I read that there is a discount for existing users if buying a new licence etc?

I created a support ticket on March 5th 26978:GBPT4K but have had no response which is rather annoying as I have money burning a hole in my pocket.

I really don't want to start using another forum script after all these years but please meet me half way guys. This used to be a great company with a great user base who have remained loyal.

Could I please have some support. I just want to keep using your product and give you some money ha smile

Thanks smile

PS: If I eventually upgrade to the latest version of Threads, will it break my custom skin that I had made or should that still be ok?

We're just users here; you'd have to ask (probably via a helpdesk ticket) about any sales questions or official inquiries to the owner.

From a complete use perspective:
1. You need current member area access to download updates; the member center is here and the purchase page is here.
2. It costs $59 to renew, and $139 to buy a new license.
3. I usually email info@ubbcentral.com vs use the helpdesk.
4. I wouldn't; vBulletin and IPV are bloated, Fusion is EOL. The development team is UBBDev, though the powers that be 'round these parts is a completely separate entity. Is there a reason you don't just click the "License Options" link in the Member Area and then renew from there? Am I missing something?
5. Again, these are user to user forums, and are not a valid support resource for the owners of the UBB.threads product.
6. Your theme should work, all of my themes where made ~7.2 and short of having to occasionally load the style editor and make updates (things get added) they work fine.

Thanks Giz.

I posted here about support in the hope that someone from the company might see it and to show prospective customers that support appears non-existent.

I'm reluctant to pay via the members' area until hearing from the company because if they're showing little sign of existing, how do I know I will receive what I need for example. I'm just concerned. As someone who runs a internet based company, when someone contacts me offering me money, I jump to deal with it. I consider that contact a priority.

Yes I'm reluctant to move to another script and hope I can remain with UBB Threads but it would be nice if the company would meet me half way smile

I will try that email in the hope someone will reach out to me.

Thanks for the info regarding the theme smile

I emailed Brooks regarding the support desk and he said they're actively manning it; so I'm really not sure what to say short of the email directly tip above (which you've done).

As for the "company appearing non existent", as of January 2015 all development of UBB.threads is being handled through UBBDev (the modification community that I'm now operating as of a few years back), we agreed with Brooks to publish 3-4 releases per year of the UBB.threads product.

I have looked at many other message boards over the past years. I will tell you from experience that this is the best board for development, the money, and operations, not excluding the help you get from the many talented people in the forums here. I would suggest you stay with UBB and you are better off.

A few years ago I sold one of my communities as they made me a offer I couldn't refuse and my wife's health was failing and I didn't have time for the site, servers it was on, and the data center in general I owned. They gave me 5 figures just for the site and board and told me they didn't want the rest of the place LOL. They migrated everything to another forum software and I can say I wasn't happy with the change and neither was the moderators either.

I stayed on as an admin for a year till they took over fully and now I am back as part of that community however I do not like the function ability of their board software.

I recently started another community similar to that one but a different dog breed as not to try to compete with them even though the non compete contract ran out years ago. But anyway my suggestion is the UBB is the best deal all the way around.

Oh and I purchased my first UBB license in the late 90's
