Inexperienced forum owner here...sorry in advance for any dopey questions.
I own and run a forum called Music Player Network. The UBB forums are at forums.musicplayer.com. My problem is that when I post a link to one of the threads on Facebook, the thumbnail that always comes up is the middle few letters of our logo at the top of the forum. Looks reeeeally goofy (see attachment).
Facebook and Twitter utilize the og:image meta tag to populate a suggested image from a website; so simply link a smaller image there via the header includes section of the UBB.threads Control Panel (CP -> Display -> General -> HTML Includes -> "Header Insert for All Pages"):
Also after posting the first time to facebook I have found if I make any edits to the meta tags. They are not immediate nor back dated. So all existing posts do not seem to update at first and new ones take a while to change. Probably due to some caching issue with facebook.

Yes, Facebook makes a cache of the fetched image as to not hammer your server; there are some ways of clearing that cache however.
