I'm trying to add a new topic to the Menubar in threads 5.4.

The userguide says, "If you want to apply the header or footer across your entire community, click on either “edit generic header” or “edit generic footer” under Includes." However, I can't find this in version 5.4.

Advice appreciated.

Debbie

I don't have a copy that old to reference.
But I think the headers were editable from the admin menu.

Anyone still got this version up and running?

In 5.5 (closest I had) open ubbt.inc.php and look for line 225, for the menubar seen by those not logged in. For those logged in look at line 311 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Josh and J.C.

Thanks for your input.

I can't find ubbt.inc.php - I presume that's a filename that I should be able to access through our ftp?

If not, then how do I access it?

Thanks,

Debbie

It should be in the threads directory.

Wait....are you running the old Perl version?

If so.... I *think* that file was something like w3t.pl

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the help. Yes, it's the old Perl version. I found a file called wt3.pm and added the new topic to the header. After I ftp'd it up, the new topic still didn't show. I exited the forum and re-logged on and the new topic still doesn't show. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Debbie

Were you able to find the HTML for the menu in that file w3t.pm?

I used to have 5.4.1 perl as I upgraded a site from it a long ways back... but guess I trashed it. So I don't really have a reference to be more specific.
