Hello,
I have a unique situation that I need assistance with.
I have areas of the forum that require a member to have group level access to view certain areas of the forum. The requirements are that they must have made 5 posts and posting on a regular basis to continue to have access. If they don't keep up with the requirements of posting on a regular basis they lose their access.
In this case they are removed from the group that allows them the access and they go on post moderation. This forces them to post to regain access.
Here's where the problem comes into play.
When they have their access removed and come back and make a post, I get a notification via e-mail
Post Moderation Required
Hello FREAK,
A post was made in a forum where you moderate: Bet The House
It requires your approval and is located at:
The url to the post is listed but I took it out of this example.
Before I go in and approve the post, the user is put back into the group allowing permission to see the part of the forum they were removed from.
Why is this? Shouldn't I have to approve the post first and then and only then they would be pushed back into the group they were removed from?
It makes no sense to just have them be able to make a post and be granted permission without the post being approved.
I hope this makes sense and I'll clarify anything if I need to.
Please advise.
Thanks

post count is based on total number of post they've created, no matter if those posts are hidden or require approval. post moderation is not tied to a user's post count since "moderation" only limits access to the posts which the user already created and were credited for.
as you've brought up, it does make more sense to only give/take credits to the user based on their live post counts, minus their awaiting approval posts.

Isaac is there a work around to this or is it just what it is? I don't know of a way to keep them in "holding queue" until their post is approved. There's no true penalty so to speak if they just make a post and gain access prior to approval. Appreciate your reply.

Any update on this. Still a major problem. Which version of UBB.threads are your forums running?

UBB.threads version 8.0.0 is available. and prior to that, version 7.7.5. A lot of work has gone in to this feature for both newer versions.

I think the initial question was not answered Does ubb8 have the correction on post count for moderated posts To count the actual post count less unapproved posts to stop auto promoting groups base on raw post count

I think the initial question was not answered Does ubb8 have the correction on post count for moderated posts To count the actual post count less unapproved posts If the user made a post regardless if it is approved or eventually deleted, they made a post that contributes to their post count. the post counter is reflection of the number of post that user made. it is not a counter for currently active posts on the forum. reasoning behind this is because some forums purge posts in categories after a certain date. i think what you are looking for is an "Active Posts" counter - or even since not all users have access to all forums, a "Post counter in forums that I have access to." Is there a tool to tally up all posts which users have made? Yes. Control Panel > Content Rebuilder > Rebuild Post Counts

Thanks This is what I'd like to get a resolution to. If you are put on moderation and make a post, great. However you shouldn't be allowed access to areas you were removed from before I approve the moderated post. That's the issue.
