I see that you can "watch" a topic, but what about getting an email sent to you when someone responds to one of your posts, or a post you're watching?

I know that I'd be interested in this, too. I like the idea of the *watch list* ... but I also like to know if a thread I've been monitoring has been active via e-mail.

haven't tested it, but there is the option

go to your watched topics page, and click "edit watched topics"

If we can't find it, user's don't stand a chance.

Also, it's not clear to me that when I "watch" a post whether it gets automatically mailed or not. Reviewing it just now, it seems that I have to manually elect to have a thread mailed to me, and it takes quite a few clicks to do this. Seems like it was much easier in older versions that you could simply check off a box when posting or replying, and you'd automatically have posts emailed.

Another good feature (seen in other packages) is that you get one email advising you that the (monitored) post has been undated, but you won't get another email until you check the board. There's no reason you need 10 emails if 10 posts have been made in an hour.
