Moderators get all admin notices?

Tillamook, Oregon on the coast...
I signed in and became one of the mods. I noticed that they get all of our admin notices.. Changes of admin, demoting mods, etc. Is that an option I can change, or is that just the way it is? Some things I may want to keep private, so as to not hurt anyone's feelings.

Currently yes - but I don't think 6.5 does these automatic PMs when moderators are promoted/demoted anymore.
