Rick posted this in reply to another thread. I felt it was noteworthy enough to make it a sticky <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

This has been asked a few times so just an FYI. You might want to make a post on your forums when running 6.5 so users know how the jump to new post works.

When a thread has an unread post inside of it there will be a yellow arrow next to the subject of that thread on the postlist screen. Clicking on the yellow arrow will take you to the first unread post. Clicking on the subject iself will take you to the first post in the thread. If you click on the subject by accident and it has new posts then in the upper left side there will be a link that says "Jump to first unread post" which you can use as well.

we don't have any documentation on that... it would either require modification of your scripts or a downgrade...

That's what I meant. Has anyone done a modification for this?

Boy, I'm not seeing this on my site.

People are complaining about entering a thread for the first time and automatically being taken to somewhere in the middle of the thread.

I would love to have you look at it and tell me what you think the problem is!?

if it would work, it would rock.
but the latest unread post most likely is your own post and it's boring to go back reading your post just because the unread post thingie is broken.

if it's not gonna be fixed, why this feature is not removed from infopop boards?
thus fur it has never worked on any of them properly.
