I dont know if this is the right forum for asking. So please excuse me if I'm out of line here.

But I'm looking for help.

I would like to know if there where some of you php geniuses, that could develop the following:

1. An integrated shoutbox/chat page. Very simple. Of course using the same displayname, emoticons, etc. as in normal posts.

2. Shouts dont go to the database. A maximum of 100 shouts are kept in a fifo structure.


3. "Who's online" must show whos currently on the chat/shoutbox page.

4. Only registered member can use the chatpage.

5. The chatpage should autorefresh each 5 sec. or so.

6. The chat page should show a list of the 5 newest posts in the forum, and also whos IN the forum.

7. The software should have a low footprint in the original software - it should be easy to port as ubbthreads develops.

8. It must be translatable.

9. It must work on 6.5.

If you think you can develop this for me, give me a price offer and we'll have a talk about how to proceed. Preference wil be given to those who demonstrate that they've produced something that works. Like Joshpet, J.C or the like.

Do beware that most web hosting providers strictly ban the use of server-side chat software, so you'll want to make sure that this doesn't violate their terms of service... (Shoutboxes are usually OK, but full chats aren't.)

Also, FYI, there is already a shoutbox built into things such as IIP... however, it uses the existing database. (It uses a hidden forum for data storage...)
