I was running 6.4.1 when I encountered a problem with the display in the onlin page. After not being able to figure it out, I upgraded to 6.5 with no modifications and have tried 6.5.1b4 as well. Specifically, the location column is not displaying the information correctly.

I looked up the number and that is actually the post number of the message the individual is looking at. Also, it (the post) is not linked. I have been experiencing this trouble since November. I have looked at the mySQL tables and nothing seems wrong there. The current install is without any modifications other than of course the header.

You can see it here --> Online problem
Thanks in advance

looks strange <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> while upgrading do you run all alter tables ?
Maybe try this: https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/40981/an/0/page/0#40981

Do you verify that you upload all files correct?

yes, all altertables are run exactly as per the instructions. That wouldn't have anything to do with it anyway, since it was running with no problem for several months on 6.4.1, then it started acting up for no apparent reason. Hence, I tried to fix the problem by upgrading with clean scripts that had not been modified, which of course still did not fix the problem. BTW, I saw that post regarding the exploit reports. I applied the fix but id does not solve the problem.

Can someone tell me in what file does the online db get updated?

There's got to be something wrong somewhere. It's showing stuff like anonymous "viewing/replying to a private message". I'm perplexed.

Not to mention that it was me that was looking at a private message and recorded me in the online as anon doing so. For whatever reason, the online is duping some of the members into the online panel.

Ok, I've kind of narrowed it down a little. If anyone can help me on this would be great.

I've compared the db table to that which shows in the who's online page. Apparently, if someone is viewing a thread, and the "O_What" in the table is empty, then the whos online will not give a URL, it will just print what is in the "O_Extra" field and not convert to the URL.

So now that I've figured out why online is displaying like that, can someone point me as to why only some of the fields in the "O_What" field are empty, while others are not. At what point is the w3t_online populated?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Mark

I think this has to do with server config and using the search engine friendly URLs. It should resolve itself if you turn the search engine friendly URLs off.

Or to try and make it work try this - backup your files first. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

In ubbt.inc.php try changing the 5 occurances of "PHP_SELF" to "SCRIPT_NAME" and see if that has any effect as the only table gets updated with new entries.

Thanks Josh. I turned the search engine friendly URL's off and left it alone for a while. It never did correct itself, so I tried the SCRIPT_NAME. It was resolved immediately and everything is working fine. Any idea why PHP_SELF would not work? A configuration in the php maybe? I would hate to have to update it every time there is an upgrade, but wait?!? I forgot, there won't be any more after 6.5.1! <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> That is if it ever comes out. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> Thanks again Josh.
