The admin on a forum I frequent has kindly enabled RSS feeds (or sent me the link) but it's very limited as it only publishes the name of post and the author of the post.

Is UBB capable of more than this. Can it be configured to publish the post as well for instance?

Yes, this can be changed to send out part or all of the body as well. By default it is set to not send any of the body out. If they want to change this, there is a setting in the Content Islands that needs to be changed:

Number of body characters to include in RSS Feeds:
Set to zero to not include anything from the post body

That's probably set to 0, they can change that to a higher number to include part/all of the body.

Thanks Rick, is it obvious to the admin which number they might change it to so as to include the whole post?

If they want to include the whole post, I'd suggest they set it to something fairly large. The number is the # of characters to include, something like 60000 should cover the majority of posts. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Bugger, apparently they're not using UBB.threads but UBB.classic, which doesn't have the same capabilities.

Is switching from classic to threads relatively straight forward? Might ask them to if it is.
