Can anyone give me a definitive answer on how to move UBB 6.02 from one UNIX server to another?

Do I need to copy all the files and all the subdirectories and then move them over and re-chmod or can I just install 6.02 on the new server and move over selected files?

I have looked at the Infopop document of moving servers but it seems more version 5 specific and not 6 so I would be grateful for the official view point (Charles perhaps) and any comments from others.

What is the easiest most reliable way?

Thanks

Andrew

With respect to http://www.infopop.com/ubb_support/support_ubb_transfer.html ...

1 through 6 is the tough part, and is not version specific.

(Are the URLs the same?)

Then just go into the CP and set the settings as required - I'm 95% sure you can do this without editing vars_config.cgi manually.

I'd suggest doing a dry run first to make sure you can do it easily enough, if feasible..

NOTE: Transfers are installs and questions beyond high-level stuff like this belong in UBB6 Installs - UNIX.

Graeme
