UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.classic UBB.classic 6 Support Deleting Forums

The more recent versions of Ubb allow deleting forums. In the old days you would disable them and recycle when needed.
My question is ,If I delete a forum and then add net new forums will it append to a deleted forum or write a net new directory.
Here is an example:
Curently have 20 forums and I delete forum 5 and 10.
If I now add a new forum will it become forum 21 or forum 5? And will forum 5 and 10 remain forever or can I ftp and delete the associated directories?
Just curious because if it gets out of hand that one day I may have 100 forum directories but only 20 active and used.

Forum numbers are not reused *UNLESS* it's the last number you delete.

I.e. you have 1 - 20 and delete 20... the next would be 20.

But if you delete 5 and 10, those would not be reused.

And you shouldn't end up with 100 different noncgi/Forum* directories, as the UBB should delete them for you. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I was afraid to try due to it was the great taboo in the old days. I just deleted 2 forums and added 1 as a test and you are absolutly correct as usual.
