I'm moving my board to a new server. Are there directions available in doing this? Of course I want to keep all members and posts. How do I go about doing this? What files do I need?

I'm just going to play it safe for now and just download the entire cgi folder.

But as far as uploading them back, what files do I need? Any other advice is appreciated.

Is there any other way besides taring the whole site?

File for file download.. which can some time depending on the size of your ubb, and your internet connection speed.

So restoring the board on the new server would consist of installing the new board obviously, then can I just upload the Member directory and the Forum directories? What about those cache directories? Thanks for the help.

cache neither needs to be backed up nor restored - it is all generated and will be regen'd as needed.

If you have telnet access to one of the servers, and FTP access to the other, you can probably use server-to-server FTP.
