I feel stupid, but I've been searching forever for a way to remove the break from between Recent Visitors and the Forum Summary. How do I get rid of that blank line?!?

Did you look in public_forum_summary.pl?

Yes, I've looked there. Obviously.

I'm pretty sure it's imbedded in Recent Visitors. It's the line in public_forum_summary.pl that says

<pre>$pntf_locations[0]</pre>
I tried tracking it further, but I can't see where that break is coming from.

Welcome to "Dealing with ugly code hacks 101"... %)

The PNTF locations are defined in the script, as an array based on where they need to be stuck. 0 and 3 are above and below the main table (island mode). 1 and 2 are attached to the table (non-island/docked mode).

The easiest way to eliminate the br is just to use the non-island mode, which is a toggle in the control panel.

If you don't like that mode (and I can't really blame you for that), the br is most likely defined as part of the vars_config{jc} hash (which sets up some HTML snippets that get turned on or off if the JC template set is being used), which is defined in ubb_lib, near InitImportantVars.

Success! Thanks Charles!

If anyone wants to know I had to change ubb_forum_summary.cgi:<pre>} elsif(($vars_pntf{Docked} eq "no") && ($vars_pntf{TopBottom} eq "top")) {
$pntf_locations[0] = qq(<?PHP pntfGetCacheForSummary('$in{category}', "$TBT_escaped", "$TBB_escaped$vars_config{'jc'}->{'no-br'}", "%%COLSPANS%%") ?>);
</pre>
to<pre>} elsif(($vars_pntf{Docked} eq "no") && ($vars_pntf{TopBottom} eq "top")) {
$pntf_locations[0] = qq(<?PHP pntfGetCacheForSummary('$in{category}', "$TBT_escaped", "$TBB_escaped$vars_config{'jc'}->{'br'}", "%%COLSPANS%%") ?>);
</pre>

In a nutshell, changing "no-br" to "br".

This assumes you're using a Standard template. I checked the vars in ubb_lib like you said and sure enough...<pre> # Standard template set vars
$vars_config{'jc'}->{'is'} = 0; # 1
$vars_config{'jc'}->{'no-br'} = '<br />'; # ''
$vars_config{'jc'}->{'br'} = ''; # '<br />'</pre>Just the opposite of what I'd expect, but once I knew what I was looking for, it was an easy fix.

Woohoo!
