We have moved our UBB boards from one web host to another. The move has gone well, overall. The only problem we are having is one involving the UBB Search function. When we Search the boards we get:
Sorry, UBB has encountered an unexpected, fatal error. This error is extremely abnormal. Please contact the board administration. The error text is:
Can't open 'NonCGIPath/searchlogs/temp-2453315-085842-VP5V.cgi'.
Permission was denied - please ask the administrator to check the permissions on that file/directory.
The exact error returned by the operating system is: Permission denied
- I did not do the install, but will pass on any info to our techie. Thanks.

From our techy:
They were on the right track: I got the search form working again - it was the directory permissions, not the file itself, which had the correct permissions.
Permissions differences are the primary source of problems when doing a transfer like this. Although I took great pains to compress and transfer the files with all structures and permissions intact, because of slight differences in the operating systems (one flavour of UNIX to another) the permissions settings did not stay the same.
The temp file itself is literally temporary and will be overwritten soon as people do more and more searches.

Lol, figured just the directory would do it, just added the file in there for sanity sake <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ... Well, glad to hear it's, somewat, working <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> .
