try entering your paths with / vs
I.E.:
D:/server/ca/cgi-bin/ubbcgi

ok, next check would be permissions: the IUSR_ (browser) account will need to have permission to read, write, execute, delete on the vars_*.cgi files. check that the vars files have those permissions, (you will need your hosts help) and let us know how it goes.

hi there,

when i go to "cuteftp", and right click vars_... its at 666. meaning its read, and write for all of them. Do i need to check execute? I've tried it and cliked applied, but it doesn't work. it just goes back to unchecked wen i check again.

thanks

because you're running on an NT machine, you need to change permission *on* the server: you won't be able to do this via FTP. further, the permissions Cute is showing you are likely incorrect anyway... you'll need to contact your host, or systems administrator, and ask for help on these permissions.
