I have a member who has requested that I delete all of her posts. It is over 1,700 over about 3 years. I don't want to try and pull up each one individually and try to delete them. Does anyone know of a way to mass delete them?

Or better yet, I would like to preserve them...it would be really cool if I could somehow transfer them to a private forum where they could be archived...but I suspect that is way too much to hope for.

you can do just this using the prune menu in the CP. just enter the user's number or name and it should give you all his posts <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the quick reply Charles. I thought about doing that, but the title of the pruning page says that if I include a users number it will "only include topics started by that user". I need to delete all of her posts, not just the ones she started.

Will pruning take all posts, or just the ones she has started?

indeed, it will only be topics started by this user, though I am quite sure it used to be all posts. Let me look into it I'll see if it can still be done an other way.

ok, so there no longer seems to be a way to do that from CP so you might want to head over ubbdev.com and ask for a script that would do that <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

To clarify on this - it was possible at one point, but something was lost in the 6.6 control panel rewrite that caused me to write it topic-based instead. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> This is a mis-feature, and is unfortunately too large a task to schedule for any of the remaining maintenance releases.
