Forgive me if this question has come up a thousand times before! I did some searching but I am runnng out of time.

I'm affiliated with a board, where a member has very recently passed away. I have volunteered to assist with extracting his posts for his family and friends, and although I am probably qualified to do this I have never worked with a UBB backend before.

Since I am very short on time, I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me by providing specifics on extracting posts from a single member for 6.3.1.1, or if easier entire threads where a specific member has posted. My goal is to convert all of it into html or php, whichever is easier. I'm assuming this is a better approach to copying and pasting each post or thread one at a time.

I am still getting up to speed on UBB - should I expect to find a mysql database somewhere and if so, does anyone have canned sql queries I can run against it?

UBB.classic stores its data in flatfiles. Your easiest way to get the posts would be to search for the users posts, and save the pages as HTML. I wish there was a method to extract the posts in a readable format for you, but there isn't a built in capability to do that in UBB.classic.

Thanks, Ron! Someone has been running a wget already anyway, which may be totally overkill. I assume searching for posts by user number is actually more precise - are you sure we won't miss anything?

If you search via the CP, you will get more results than viewing via ultimatebb.cgi. The forum interface limits to like 100 latest post, but, IIRC, the cp.cgi will return the full results.
