Rick,

What has been changed in the search engine in version 7 exactly. I think the one biggest gripe we get on our site is that people find the search engine pretty useless. I know its a lot down to the user, but it would be interesting to know what has been changed and then I can certainly pass on some of the suggested changes that we have been asked for.

We are often given comparasions between UBB and VB for example.

I've confirmed the full text boolean search operators + include, - exclude and "" group, all work here. Resulting hits are highlighted in bold italic font. * wildcard does not appear to be functional (reported as bug). The other more obscure boolean operators <, >, (, ), and ~ do not appear to be supported (yet). Even so.. it's a dramatic improvement over previous ubb search routines.

Go here for a good explaination of the operators:

Stress the system until it breaks. Hey.. it works for Spacecraft.. why not here?

Can I ask one HUGE HUGE favour.. the single biggest moan is that the results are presented badly. Can we have it so multiple results in a thread are presented as one result rather than pages of the same one ?
