Again I find myself in here looking for the experts advice :-) Seems I'm in here way too often!
Ok...had everything working fine for a long time. THEN I had the bright idea of upgrading...uh oh. Everything works just great! New spell checker is awesome. I, of course, didn't need it but some of my members did :-)
Though the board works fine, I now cannot get into ANYTHING in the control panel. I can get TO the control panel but none of the links now work. I checked the paths while under general settings before accepting them. They were all the same and working fine. It changed after I accepted changes to the general settings (I think...actually accepted styles, forums, mods, index, threads in that order).
Since I can't get into my general settings now, anybody got a clue how I can fix it? I need to add some members to the private forum:-)
Since it seems to be a problem with your control panel, please post a link to it so we can check it out first-hand.

Certainly, here ya go: http://www.hcard.org/ubb/cp.html I would add admin5 back but....I couldn't make him an administrator if I wanted to at this point :-) Onlooker
You forgot to edit the BASE HREF in the cplinks.html file or you edited the wrong line. There are two BASE HREF lines in there, the first is just an example line (don't edit it) the second instance will look like this BASE HREF = "" that is the line you need to edit.

Are you sure your BASE HREF is correct. You've currently set it to http://www.hcard.org/web/ but there doesn't appear to be such a directory on your web site. Usually I would expect it to be http://www.hcard.org/cgi-bin/ Please verify the URL (not absolute path) to where the cgi files have been loaded. That is what should go in as the BASE HREF (URL to your UBB cgi directory).

Well...at first I tried simply: http://www.hcard.org When that didn't work, I tried to add the /web folder which is what the path says in my ftp program. When that didn't work, I changed it to the cgi-bin as you mentioned. no dice Onlooker
You're on a RaQ, which is Linux. As this is an upgrade, and upgrades are installations, I'm moving this to the Unix Installation forum for further followups.

By me just typing in my browser address window, http://www.hcard.org/cgi/cpanel.cgi?action=variables I get to your general settings login prompt which tells me there is no problem. I just checked your cp.html and the cplinks.html is currently set with a BASE HREF of http://www.hcard.org/ Change it to http://www.hcard.org/cgi/ and see if it works. If it doesn't, post back here, but leave the cplinks.html with the http://www.hcard.org/cgi/ as the BASE HREF loaded so we can see it ourselves.
