The NTech IEC Switch: Simple Bus Isolation designed for the Commodore systems like the C64, C64U, and C128. This allows you to seamlessly toggle individual serial bus ports on or off to manage peripheral conflicts, isolate disk drives, or handle multi-device setups like meatloaf development without physically unplugging cables. Additionally you can use the Commodore 64 Ultimate’s built-in virtual IEC drive alongside physical disk drives and peripherals.

In certain configurations, connected physical IEC devices can introduce electrical load or line interference that disrupts the C64 Ultimate's virtual drive functionality—even when the physical drive is idle. This inline adapter solves the problem by featuring a dedicated physical toggle to completely isolate the connected peripheral when not in use. It eliminates the need for constant cable swapping, protecting your ports from wear and tear.

Fully Breaking ON-OFF Switching

The main toggle switches the primary IEC bus lines:

• DATA
• ATN
• CLOCK
• RESET

In the OFF position (away from the output port), the IEC path is broken meaning the output port is not selected, giving you a true off isolation for the switched IEC lines. In the ON (position towards the output port), the input cable is connected to the output port.The OFF position acts as a IEC kill switch.

The SRQ line remains connected, which is recommended for many modern IEC-compatible setups. The RESET line is also switched and is controlled by the momentary push-button switch, allowing reset to each device separately without resetting the main system.
