What I supplied was just how to create your own SYSTEM VARIABLES which this does not look like it applies.
This error seems to indicate that PHP is requesting a specific entry, so creating/editing your own Variable does not seem to apply to this scenario.
Did you try the link posted by Rick? Did you enable/dis-able friendly spider links and see how it works each way?
