well, I managed to get the webserver working
I set up vsftpd, I can FTP in from using the LAN IP with CuteFTP no problem, but when I try to access it from the WAN side, via my IP address or domain name, it fails to connect, though did open up the port in my router.. will mess with it more later.. I need a break!
