I miss a fix for the mass mail problem. The $Display variable is not filled and the mass mail from admin panel strip out every cr/lf

I have a whole range of bugs that I would like to have addressed for the release. I just haven't had time to send them in yet, as the list I have also has a bunch of feature requests in it and I need to separate them first.

While I'm on the subject, is one post per bug preferred or could I just post one long post with them?

Yeah... but there are so many, it's going to take a while to create all those posts. And be very boring. =]

But I'll try to post them tonight. It's generally UTF8/language stuff and some things related to threaded mode. Things I guess not a lot of people use.

Just make sure you put the version number in the subject wink

If the bugs are related merge them - if not separate posts.

This way Rick can refer to them individually and keep a check smile

7.3.1 final will be coming early next week. The beta testers will get it this weekend to catch for any last minute problems.

I'll also be archiving the current bug reports forum. Over the past year or so it hasn't been maintained properly so it's currently a bit hard to weed through actual issues.

Ian, unfortunately that didn't make it in. Another reason why I need to get things cleaned up around here as I obviously miss stuff.

Doing spring cleaning in the bug forums sounds like a good idea.

I'm just wondering if I have to repost all missed bugs afterwards. There are quite a few I've reported that don't seem to have been fixed in 7.3.1.

No, while the forum will disappear (as I'm going to make it only readable to me), as I find ones that haven't been fixed I'll move them back to the live bugs forum.

My 7.3.1 install went smoothly. Only issue (if you can call it that) was that I needed to manually set permissions in languages/english.

Thanks, Rick! And thanks to all who support UBB.

It would be nice if we had, in addition to the release notes denoting fixed/changed/added functionality, a listing of all the files that are modified so that those of us who make minor mods can easily see if we need to do a follow up.

Or, does this already exist and I'm just not seeing it?

When you do an upgrade using the upgrade utility it gives a list of all scripts/templates that have been changed.

Or one could use a utility like Beyond Compare to compare old files to new ones wink

When I click the 7.3.1 changelog link in Rick's first post in this thread, I get error: There was a problem looking up this post in our database.

It is just me?

I recently upgraded to version 7.3.1. I no longer see the Allow PM option for user permissions. Has this been moved, changed or deleted?

I don't know if this has been addressed in recent versions, but I can recall that if you only have one or two users that need to be silenced (!) you can set their status as 'child' or 'under 13' etc.

As per this thread.

Hopefully someone will correct me, but at least you get a short term solution wink

Of course if you want them to get PMs, they can still switch this option off in their profile.

You have to do this by group permissions now.

I did look for that - but couldn't find it.
I figure my board came with the permissions set-up (during upgrade).

Surely, this needs to be done on a per user basis?

I don't see how I can control private messaging using group permissions. Can you tell me how?

That's what I'm saying, I couldn't find it either.

Maybe (hopefully) someone will correct me/ us.
If not, it's back to the second post from the top.

Well, setup a new group (name it say, "restricted") and set its permissions to whatever you want to restrict (by using a -1 as the permission); then when a user pisses you off, simply file them into this group...

But where do I specify that a group can not send private messages? I don't see the option in group management screens (default or newly added groups).

I THINK: Permission Editor, Site Permissions, Total # of private topics allowed, -1

lol, it SHOULD work, as the max pm's is set to restricted... I was unsure as I've never even attempted such a thing...
