What is the cause and correction to after upgrading to V 7.6.0 ? As shown below image
Icons are not viewing correctly and even when a new post is done on left edge shows no new posts, no icons there as seen in V 7.5.9
During the upgrade install it stated all was OK, no errors, and even going to icons page on control panel and clicking on update icons nothing changes to the look via the forum pages.
Also main forum page where left edge showed icons no longer shows.
Thank-You

That file shows permissions set to 0644 is that correct and if so then not the cause of the problem ? And the files date is correct for the day I did the update
ID242 I went through every folder and files and set the rights for all, folders to 777 and 666 for the files in the folders the URL you posted
The forum is functional BUT when I click on the control panel icon it crashes with the below
Error 500 - Internal Server Error
An error was encountered while processing your request. Typically this is a temporary condition. Please contact the web site owner for further assistance.
So what do I do now to fix this as cannot get into control panel at all ?
As above URL stated to set admin folder to 777 rights and files within that folder to 666 rights
I verified the admin folder is set to 777 and all files in that folder is set to 666 so why is dashboard.php now failing ?
Confirm that your permissions are correct for /admin directory and its files. What you are reporting is a server error, not a UBB.threads software error.

I checked again and admin folder is set at 777 and all the files in that folder is set to 666
This failure to crash on dashboard.php only started after making those rights changes
No, the only scripts ever executed are dashboard.php and ubbthreads.php, only the admin folder should be 755, add there is no editor for admin pages, so it doesn't need to be 777 or the files on it anything but 644.

I followed the upgrade URL above and it states
Linux, Unix, and Mac Servers: • admin/ folder: set permissions to 777 • files within the admin/ folder: set permissions to 666
Setting admin folder back to 755 and still crashes for dashboard.php
What are the permissions on: Ubbthreads folder. Admin folder Dashboard.php
I know what the wiki says, I wrote it; I also know what the experience of twenty years of doing UBB installs on various server configurations, a 500 error means one of your permissions are off.
Like I keep saying, they're is a server setting on some servers that will not allow scripts to execute in a 777 folder, and the only reason we require that in some areas is for an editor or management utility, which we don't have for the admin folder, so those files can be in a 755 admin folder with the files in it 644.
There's not much more we can do without access to the server, and that is not a free service that I offer; you can try the UBB support desk
What is there to understand ? you told me to change one folder ADMIN back to 755 rights which I did
I followed the upgrade document and followed each one by one as to changing folders to 777 and files to 666
You stated only admin needed to be set back to 755 which I did and dashboard still crashes so what Gizmo do I not understand what you told me to change ?
The fact 7.6.0 has been working other then the icon issue for about 1 week, and now crashing once the rights were changed is not a understanding but clearly dashboard was working until rights were changed so is it possible any other folders set to 777 or files set to 666 need to be set back to 644 ?
I set all files back to 644 from the 666 in admin folder and now dashboard, control panel is functional again Just changing dashboard.php back to 644 and then CP working but it selecting any function within CP clicked on would 500 error so all files in admin clearly had to be set back to 644 rights
Now what other rights in all folders and files I set to 777 and 666 also need to be changed back ?
Also with all these rights changes as to the OP I started now needs to be done so icons are now functional ?
The other files follow the permission list, it was only the admin files affected, funny change anything else.
CP is now functional so back to the original post/questions as still do not have any icons on left edge or icon for users selections at top of page So all folders and files as per upgrade document set to 777 and 666 folder/files
As shown below is something in style has to be changed to solve the icon problems such as shown set to default set should change to php ?
Or is another style change needed to correct missing icons ?
Don't do anything on the page, but note the three lines that are returned (including a php.ini file that is readable plain text by the web), click "Parent Directory", note the five lines. Click on "default" and see the proper directory structure.
It appears that an .htaccess file is misconfigured and is blocking requests that aren't originating from your server.
I did a search and found .htaccess file 3 times, though only 1 was in the root of main public folder I renamed all 3 Made no difference to the forum having icon issues.
I then went to teamzr1.com/ubbthreads/images/general/default/ and snapshot below but only see files there's no directory structure so not sure what you wanted me to now or next ?

You might ask your host, since the assets are on the server (I can reach the font awesome files but they're not loading, some of the images say their corrupt, and this bizarre indexing issue)
Ruben is this because of folder of files "rights" changes that were made ?
Could be. Just noticed that I can troll all your folders and see contents of files. At least under the ubb folder. Usually the cpanel has a option to dis-allow indexing folders which is written to htaccess. So if it is corrupted then it will not happen. So possibly you have a multitude of htaccess files that need to be purged and start over.
To close those folders from viewing aka trolling I always drop a file called index.html with nothing in the file. Just open notepad on your computer then save the file as index.html and FTP it to those folders. Anyone trying to troll your folders will just get a blank web page.
Do NOT put that file in any folder that has a file named index.html, index.htm, index.php and so on in it.
Once again always backup your folders before making any changes
