I am not sure what the issue may be for the Show PDF feature for attached PDF files. When you click on it, it gives message “No Preview Available.” When you click on the icon with arrow point out of a box, it takes you to Google doc which also says, “No preview available”. Any idea which what I am doing wrong?

Could it be a broken PDF? one that was not completely uploaded/attached?
Do you have a browser extension blocking the third-party domain communication?

The odd part is the download links work but not the preview.
Could it be that pdf is not a allowed attachment file?
Even though it is saved.

Or could it be it was originally saved in google docs. And uploaded from there.

This is the error displayed when attempting to attach a file that is not configured within the "Allowed Attachment File Extensions" setting -

an *.swf (ShockWave/Flash) file, for example -

Attached are the first 6 pages from a book. There is a password on the pdf. That password is, "abc123"

Just thought there may be a hole for a pdf or if it is a google doc file.
That is the only thing I came up with thinking out of the box.
What is weird is the download link works just not the preview.

Attached is a regular text file with the content being only, "hello world"
The file extension was changed from "txt" to "pdf"

Do you have a link to the page with the attachment, so I can inspect it?

Im able to view the PDF inline just fine.

I had a chance to look at it today. Your post gave me an idea what this issue might be. I use a WordPress plugin for security and part of it I have set up to block hotlinking.

All to often people post a problem, they get responses but the original poster never replies if it was resolved or not and what they did to resolve the issue.

This post helps every one.
Even if not a UBB issue it was a issue that future users will find helpful.
Including the programmers.

I am having this issue also. I'm not savvy about code like you guys. Is there a fix that I can do and can you tell it to me in plain English . If not can you tell it to me so I can pass it on to my server guy.

do you have a link to this issue in your website? also, http or https?

can you view or download the attached pdf from earlier in this thread?

is your browser updated? chrome will not display PDF or flash or other add-ons if you are using an outdated version of chrome -- restart your browser.

what browser add-ons are you using? are they blocking Google servers or third-party servers... such as Google's?

does this happen when you try viewing on a different browser?

these are the first steps in debugging your issue.

EDIT: Have you tried the .httaccess steps as previously discussed in this thread?
