I have had similar problems in the past, which were mostly due to topics being stickied. If you delete the post it will delete it in both places. At least that has been my experience. You can find out by looking at the topic number. For this thread the link url is
https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/236724/ 236724 is the topic number. Look at your posts and see if they have the same number. If they are then deleting one will delete the other.
I'd try moving it back to the original location and then try the move topics tool from the admin to see if that moves it without leaving something behind.
