I went through every folder and files and set the rights for all,
folders to 777 and 666 for the files in the folders the URL you posted

The forum is functional
BUT when I click on the control panel icon it crashes with the below frown

Error 500 - Internal Server Error

Please contact the web site owner for further assistance.

So what do I do now to fix this as cannot get into control panel at all ?

As above URL stated to set admin folder to 777 rights and
files within that folder to 666 rights

I verified the admin folder is set to 777 and all files in that folder is set to 666
so why is dashboard.php now failing ?
