Unfortunately, with over 400 forums, redirecting someone who was trying to go to the "football forum" to the master list of "every single forum in the system" isn't exactly helpful
And since we've been around for five years, and have hundreds of thousands of pages on the site (never mind on other peoples' sites), it's pretty much impossible for us to update all of those old links. I guess I will move on to other issues I can actually fix!
