There's no "fessing up" here, I tried to explain all of this from the beginning, so let's all try to act like grownups.

And there is no "3rd party", it's one of the moderators that's been with me for over ten years.

We've been using this method of starting members as a Newbie and eventually moving them to the User group for about a year with no problems.
Nobody tried to move 15,000 members at once, but that is the number that suddenly showed up as being in the Newbie group and then disappeared, which is when the problems started. And that's why I took a stab at it being a corrupted database.

I'm a marketing person, not a developer (although I did build web sites for McGraw-Hill many years ago).
Which is why I usually pay someone associated with the ubb to do our upgrades.

If someone who knew better had told me I need to purge logs (and how) I would have done it.
Also, I don't remember anyone mentioning the automatic post count feature.

So instead of trying to point out what I'm doing wrong, how about providing some actual helpful information which is what I came here asking for?
