Thanks Ruben,

Panic is a good word for it.
I rely on our web sites for the better part of my income, and the forums are our main attraction.

You are correct that once the members drop out of being assigned to any group, you can only find them through the member list.

Luckily Ken Chase (our IT guy and hosting service) is very good with database work.
He was able to write a script that identified everyone not assigned to a group, and then insert them into the User group.

He did this after rebuilding/repairing some tables that had apparently become corrupted (he'd be able to explain it much better than I can).

As of last night we were back up to showing 92,600+ members.
He then took a dump of the database to make sure we had a backup of good data.

My thanks to everyone who tried to help, sorry if I got a little pissy but at my age (67) I'm too old to look for another job so the forums and Piano World are important to me :-) As it happens I was having some challenges with my WordPress Piano World site at the same time, when it rains...

In a couple of weeks I'll work on updating to the latest version.
We're going to be updating php then as well, and likely moving to a new server.

Best,
Frank B.
